Welcome to the Beth Lucas Design Journal

Beth Lucas Design workspace with sewing tools.

I’m just a girl from New Jersey who loves working with her hands and making beautiful things — especially dresses. Handcrafting has taught me patience, appreciation, and a deep respect for the creative process.

I’ve always been inspired by the greats — Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Charles James, Vivienne Westwood, Giorgio Armani, and Alexander McQueen — visionaries who shaped fashion through artistry, innovation, and storytelling. I love watching how artists of all kinds bring beauty into the world. My dream is to do the same: to bring beauty and love into this world through my own creative pursuits.

There’s a line from the Netflix series Bridgerton that has stayed with me. The dressmaker tells her client, “You know my favorite part about dressmaking? It’s seeing the glow on a woman’s face when she puts the dress on.” That is exactly how I feel when I see someone slip into a garment I’ve handcrafted with love.

This Journal is a place to share that journey — my inspirations, my process, and the joy of creating garments that make women feel radiant. I hope to bring that same glow to you.

Please be sure to follow me on Instagram @bethlucasdesign.

With love,
Beth
