Don’t Quit Before the Miracle Happens

I love the saying, “Don’t quit before the miracle happens.” My latest dress was a bit of a challenge, and I almost gave up on it.
If you follow me, you know I’m in my custom dressmaking era. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and now I’m finally giving myself the chance to create beautiful dresses and corsets — learning so much along the way.
This dress has a sweetheart neckline, an A-line silhouette with a slight bell skirt, and hits at ankle length. I made it as a reference piece for my collection, so it’s one-of-a-kind — as all my dresses are, custom-made to each client’s wishes.
My niece Abby was my fit model for this piece. Initially, I wasn’t loving how the dress was coming together, but once I put it on Abby, everything clicked and I could finally see its potential. In the end, I’m really happy with how it turned out.
With every dress I make, I’m learning and building confidence in my skills. I feel blessed to be doing what I love.
For the interior corset, I referenced the Dressmaking Academy course (affiliate link — I may earn a small commission if you enroll, at no extra cost to you). I finished the dress with hand-beaded lace and a beautiful chiffon flower at the waist.
I wanted to keep this one short and just update you on what I’ve been working on.
